Courage to persist
Inspire, Re-Frame, Energize, Renew,
We are limited by our internal view of the world.
Viewing people/ideas/things as formidable obstacles,
instead of stepping stones to traverse the river of life.
Over the years my life path has looked more like a winding stream through the Rocky Mountains. Moving at different rates, sometimes a raging rapids while other a slow wander through the meadows. What I have learned through this is even when there are boulders in your path, to keep persisting and look for different ways to be successful.
The Blog reflects my own life interests and focus. It is provided as a means of connecting with others. Like the Aspen groves in Colorado - we too are all connected.
Early Childhood has been my focus for several decades. Growing in education and leadership through the support of great mentors/coaches/peers. Over the years I have presented on a variety of topics at local/state/national conferences along side teaching different college courses.
‘These are Interesting Times’ is an understatement for what we are currently experiencing both professionally and personally. Pausing to restore our personal and classroom balance can feel daunting. Today let’s pause for wellness. We will explore mindful movements paired with breathing, setting purposeful intentions that will help focus the mind, keep the body healthy, and lower mistaken behaviors. Research supports using these strategies to create healthy classrooms and office environments for adults and children. Together we will move, breathe, gather resources, and explore a mini lesson to take back to your workspace to bring about positive transformation.
'I have to do...." " My boss/teacher/spouse is making me..." Do you hear yourself saying this throughout the day? When you do, how does it reflect in your self-esteem? Take ownership of your choices and feel your inner power grow. When we say, "I choose to do.." then we are validating that we get to choose how we spend our time. Time is truly the currency of our lives. Together we will explore different strategies to be courageous and build our inner strength through reflection and recognition of what is important.
Do you have stepping stones or stumbling blocks? As a group we will explore, discuss, and learn more about Fixed and Growth Mindsets. How mindsets affect our stress levels and sense of well being. Discussing why it is easier to have challenging discussions with some parents/children while others seem to quickly shut down. We will create strategies for increasing resiliency, curiosity, and persistence, which are key to being successful in school, work, and life. When you leave you will have a variety of tools to create a positive course of action for yourself, peers, families, and children
